Deadly Decisions

Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. I think that the third book of the Temp Brennan saga is a bit of a let down after 1 really good and 2 ok to good. I don't have any major issue with the plot, although i didn't really find the various factions of the biker gangs that easy to follow as i thought the descriptions were a bit dry.

My bigger issues were with the repetition of themes from previous books oh look, multiple apparently disconnected events end up being totally connected None of these themes have anything wrong with them per se, but if they are going to appear in every single Tempe Brennan book i needn't bother reading them, as i could probably predict the plot line by being told the names of the main characters My other issue is some of the stuff that Tempe does is totally out of character for her supposedly "all about the job, working all hours, focussed on quality and doing things properly" mentality.

Who, when working on active investigations of any sort in any capacity, takes home photos and notes and leaves them lying around in a house where she has someone visiting and staying there?

  5. A visitor who brings around a journalist no less! A journalist who unsurprisingly tries to read said notes and steal photos since they were just knocking about in the kitchen! Surely if this happened in real life Tempe would be at the very least under some kind of disciplinary action? If not fired? And in the book she seems more put out by "i can't believe that journalist would go through this evidence of the case on which is probably wants to report" than " I can't believe I was so unbelievably stupid as to leave these files out for anyone to get hold of".

    See a Problem?

Those gripes aside which as you can tell did really irritate me , it was still interesting enough to read to the end, and i'd probably give the Temp Brennan series one more go before giving up as the same plotline with different character names One person found this helpful. Ho on earth did Kathy Reichs become famous with books as bad as these?

Very poor book. Not recommended. Format: Paperback Verified Purchase. Another classic from Kathy Reichs. A very disturbing book but then again most of hers are. Fast paced action and brilliant character development. Scenes are very graphically portrayed so this is definitely not a book for the light hearted. I have read most of Cathy Reichs books and will I am sure read more in the future and highly recommend them to anyone else. There are similarities, and there are differences! The book Tempe works great, but she'd never work as a charismatic character on TV.

Once you accept that they are really two different people, you can settle down and enjoy every one of these marvellous books! Enjoying these books. Wish I'd read them first, before watching the TV series. I read the whole series one after the other, this is a mistake as the tales are similar.

I am still reading this but thoroughly enjoying it but have not yet started any of the others thanks.
